Kiosk & MDM
The kiosk app reads three keys from managed configuration. Set them in your device management console when you enrol the tablet.
| Key | Type | Meaning |
|---|---|---|
displayUrl |
string | Full https:// address of the display app. Empty keeps the build-time default. |
pairingCode |
string | Opens the on-device settings sheet (two-finger press for five seconds). Without it, the sheet opens only while the tablet is not yet paired. |
lockTask |
bool, default true |
Lock the tablet to the app and relaunch it if it leaves the foreground for more than 30 s. |
Lock task
- Device owner (recommended). Enrol the tablet with the kiosk app as device owner. The app adds itself to the lock-task allowlist and enters lock task on launch. Home, Recents and the status bar are unavailable. Also set the app as the home app.
- No device owner. The app asks the tablet to pin the screen once. A person taps Got it on the tablet. Pinning stays until someone holds Back and Recents together.
Pairing
An admin always completes pairing in the admin page. The tablet shows a six-character code
and the admin types it on the Devices page. Managed configuration cannot pre-claim a
tablet. The pairingCode key only protects the settings sheet.
Address changes
An address saved from the settings sheet wins over displayUrl. Clearing the
app data returns the tablet to the managed value, then to the build-time default.
